COPA Flight 177 awarded the first “Wrench The Dream” grants to Joy Kuai and Shane Jacobs, supporting their journey to become licensed aviation maintenance engineers and addressing Canada’s AME shortage.
The Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) and Elevate Aviation have joined forces in a three-year partnership to open doors, break down barriers and grow Canada’s aviation community. Together, the two organizations will deliver programs that inspire future aviators, support current pilots, and strengthen the industry through mentorship, education, and community engagement.
Less than three months into her role as President and CEO, Marcia has been inspired by the people, passion, and possibilities that define General Aviation in Canada.

Space Concordia Team
Space Concordia Rocketry Division has received formal authorization from Transport Canada to launch the most powerful student-built rocket in the world to space. The mission received the support of COPA, whose network of passionate aviators will assist in the recovery of the rocket. Once Starsailor returns to Earth, COPA pilots can play a crucial role in locating the payload and analyzing its condition, an essential step in completing the mission and securing its scientific data.

An airplane with origins in the days when bush pilots transported people, cargo and even horses across northern Canada is taking flight once again in central B.C. A 1938 Bellanca Aircruiser, made from various materials including wood and fabric, is spending the summer in Vanderhoof, B.C., about 100 kilometres west of Prince George. On loan from the Erickson Aircraft Collection in Oregon, it's being piloted by Glenn Pearce, a retired Air Canada pilot with over 55 years of experience.
