The Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport (CNK4) has just finished its first operational year following the completion of the runway project. The modernized runway has made sure the airport can better accommodate the residents and visitors of the shores of Georgian Bay, and the Parry Sound and Muskoka districts, making the Parry Sound community more accessible and better connected. To modernize the airport, the runway was extended to 4,900 feet long by 100 feet wide, with the addition of new LED runway lights that provide all pilots with enhanced visibility.

The Parry Sound Airport continues to be an Airport of Entry (AOE) for CanPass members, offering an efficient entry process for members 24 hours a day, every day of the year. As a CanPass member, passengers can land at the Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport during operational hours. The services available ensure that area residents, and any other visitors coming or going have the most convenient travel experience possible.

Aside from the general aviation services provided at The Parry Sound Airport, there is the airport café, Wings. Wings Café is located inside the airport terminal, serving breakfast and lunch not only to pilots, but to the general public as well. After the runway project was completed, Wings Café opened for weekends as well, making sure the residents and visitors are able to grab the delicious food they know and love whenever they want!

In addition, the Parry Sound Airport was able to connect with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and have an agreement in place to provide enhanced services for residents and visitors during the hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm local time. CBSA provides clearance services for persons arriving to the Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport by private, commercial, and corporate aircraft where the flights are unscheduled and the number of travelers on each flight does not exceed 15 people, crew included.

The Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport continues to be a point of entry to our beautiful area, not just for trips to the summer cottage, but for year-round activities. The airport is committed to supporting the needs of all residents and visitors. The airport hopes everyone is enjoying and making the most of its modernized facilities.
