On Saturday, June 14, the skies cooperated for another perfect day of flying and our Flight 23 community took full advantage. Nearly 50 members and guests gathered lakeside to socialize, savour delicious steaks grilled by Jordan Miller, and enjoy the camaraderie that makes our chapter so special.

Two dedicated members even flew in to join the fun: Mark Wilkins, accompanied by his children Taylor and Landon, arrived from Mattawa, while Terry Cooper touched down from South River.

After everyone had their fill, Nico Anello treated the group to a slideshow of highlights from the previous weekend’s Discover Aviation event—another resounding success.

The Saturday Discover Aviation day at Canadore Aviation campus and North Bay Airport drew more than 1,000 visitors for tours of the maintenance hangar, air traffic control tower, and Voyageur Airways facilities.

Ten aircraft carried 99 eager young flyers on their first taste of flight, all as part of North Bay’s year-long centennial celebrations.

With clear skies, friendly faces, and a shared passion for aviation, Flight 23’s BBQ proved the perfect kickoff to what promises to be an exciting summer season.
