Submitting Events

COPA regularly shares upcoming aviation-related events with our flying community. When reviewing events submitted to COPA, we prioritize promoting events that meet the following criteria:

  • The event is organized by one of our COPA Flight chapters
  • The event promotes and/or advances the interests of General Aviation
  • The event encourages a new generation of pilots and aviators

To list your upcoming aviation event, please fill out the following form. We kindly ask that submissions are provided at least 2-3 weeks in advance of your event.

Information for COPA Flights submitting an event:

  • All active COPA Flights must update their information yearly. Please click here if you need to update your status prior to planning an event. A printable PDF form, which can be filled out and e-mailed to the office at copa@copanational.org can be found here.
  • If your COPA Flight status is up-to-date, and you are planning on hosting an event, you need to request your Air Meet Insurance Certificate. Please make sure to fill out the insurance request section in the event submission form. If you require any assistance with submitting your event, please contact copa@copanational.org.

  • COPA Flight 65 - Vernon:  Rust Remover
    Date: May 03-04, 2024 (May 03: dinner at 6 pm, May 04: registration starting at 8 am)
    Location: Vernon Airport (CYVK), 6210 Tronson Road, Vernon, BC V1H 1N5
    Description: The Vernon Flying Club, in conjunction with COPA Flight 65, is hosting a Rust Remover at the Vernon Airport (CYVK). The program has been approved by TC to meet two-year recurrent training requirements, and costs $35 including lunch. For those traveling, the Vernon Flying Club will host a dinner at 6 pm on Friday, May 3rd. Renew old friendships and make new ones! The charge for the dinner will be $10 per person.

  • The Ninety-Nines International Conference & Career Expo

  • Wings ‘n’ Wheels 2024 at Campbell River Airport (CYBL)
    Date: Jul. 14, 2024, 8 am – 3 pm
    Location: 2300 Airport Drive, Campbell River, British Columbia V9H 1T5
    Description: Static aircraft displays, classic cars (thank you North Island Cruisers!), entertainment, food trucks and meet the TeenFlight Campbell River students. Fly in or take the shuttle and make a day of it.Aircraft are welcome to arrive the day before and “camp under the wing”. Registration required for camping space by emailing hr@sealandaviation.com.

  • Westlock Flying Club (COPA Flight 139) Rust Remover

  • Red Deer (COPA Flight 92) Drive-in and Fly-in Breakfast
    Date: May 5, 2024 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

    Description: Red Deer Alberta Flying Club will be hosting a pancake breakfast, rain or shine. Everyone is welcome to drive in, fly in and join for this annual event. Tickets are for $20 (adults), $10 (kids under 12), and $40 for families. Expect to see the famous Buffalo Airways DC3 on display and to possibly see them perform an engine run-up on it during the breakfast.   • Alberta Air Tours (COPA Flight 220) Joins YQL Aviation Day

    Description: The day begins in Lethbridge alongside the YQL Aviation Day Event, all part of the mission to support and inspire general aviation throughout Alberta! For those flying in the night before, there are hotel discount codes you can use; these hotels are close together making it easier to arrange a shuttle to take everyone to the airport in time for breakfast.     Description: Rust Remover hosted by Northwest Territories Flying Association (COPA Flight 108). Approved by Transport Canada as meeting 24-month recurrency requirement of CARS 421.05(2)(c).  Presentations will include general aviation safety and airworthiness topics, YZF control zone operations, and buying and selling private aircraft.  Free for NWTFA members. $40 for non-members. Advance online registration required.

  • Hawkesbury (COPA Flight 131) Safety Seminar

    Description: The Hawkesbury Flying Club (COPA Flight 131) is hosting a pilot flight safety seminar on Tuesday, April 23rd. This seminar will feature a presentation by an Aviation Safety Inspector from Transport Canada. It is open to all pilots and aircraft owners and will provide credit for the bi-annual recurrent training requirement. No advance registration required.

  • A Great Day To Fly A Poker Run

    Description: Check-in at 5 different designated airports and earn a new card at each check-in for a chance to win awesome prize packages! After registering at the first designated airport, fly to another four listed in no particular order. The dealer at each airport will either deal you a card, or you may choose a card, and then the dealer will stamp and initial your official Poker Hand sheet. Each airport has a different stamp. Return to the final destination (Terminus) airport by the specified time. Participants can play more than one hand, and can fly hands for someone else. Play hands for friends, they do not have to be with you in the plane! NO LIMIT to the number of hands you can play!

  • Rideau Lakes Flying Club (COPA Flight 56) Ultralight-focused Fly-in​​​​

    Description: Third annual ultralight-focused fly-in at Westport. This event is to give ultralight and other interested flyers in our area a chance to fly together, enjoy the field and the town, and give all visitors to the day the chance to see many models of ultralights up-close.   • Deep River Summerfest - Deep River/Rolph Airport (CPH2)

    Description: The Deep River Summerfest is a family friendly festival held every two years. This year a fly-in and an optional under the wing camping event is organized at CPH2 during the festival's weekend. Pilots and passengers are encouraged to join for a weekend of family fun. Free festival site admission (value of $20) for the first few pilots and passengers arriving by air. Please pre-register your aircraft ahead of time to support our event planning efforts.

  • Underwater Egress Training - Emergency Training Program by Aero-Formatech

    Description: Aviation safety is an approach aimed at preventing accidents and incidents in the aviation industry.     Description: Join COPA Flight 39 - Miramichi in cooperation with Anglophone School District – North, for their third “Aviation Discovery Day” at the Miramichi Airport. Event open to the public with no registration required! There will be static displays (COPA groups from the Maritimes are invited), the Aviation Museum will be open, there will be air terminal tours, CASARA is invited, and we are in communication with Forest Protection Ltd to send over an Air Tractor and one of their spotters again this year. Robo Cop, Ironman and other Marvel characters will be there again this year for the kids.
