COPA Chapters – AKA COPA Flights – are the heart and soul of COPA. At flying clubs and meeting halls from Newfoundland & Labrador to Vancouver Island to Canada’s Far North, COPA members have been coming together for more than sixty years to promote General Aviation and to preserve the spirit of flight in their communities.
Each year, more than 3,000 individuals take their very first flight with a COPA pilot at a Discover Aviation Day, and almost every weekend of the year there is a meeting, fly-in, rust-remover, or pancake breakfast being hosted at a local hangar.
These grass-roots activities are what keep General Aviation alive and well, and we have our COPA Flight Captains and their crew for making it all happen – Thank you!
Annual COPA Flight Status Update
In order to ensure up-to-date event insurance and visibility on the COPA website, All COPA Flights must register and renew their annual status by end of every calendar year. Please refer to the COPA Flights Guide found in the Flight Captains Workspace on the COPA Flight Deck. COPA Flights can update their annual status on the COPA Flight Deck.
Activating a COPA Flight
COPA Flights consist of a minimum of ten active COPA members plus a Flight Crew including a Captain, Co-Captain, Navigator, and Discover Aviation Coordinator. More information can be found in COPA Guide to COPA Flights found on the COPA Flight Captains Workspace on the COPA Flight Deck.

Submitting Events
COPA shares upcoming aviation-related events with our flying community through social media and the COPA website. To list your upcoming aviation event (excluding Discover Aviation events), please fill out the following form. To register an upcoming Discover Aviation event, please fill out this form. We kindly ask that submissions are provided at least 2-3 weeks in advance of your event.
Non-COPA members will be charged a fee of $55.00 to post their event.

Recognition
Consider nomination your local COPA Flight for a COPA Flight Excellence Award. The COPA Flight Excellence Award was introduced in 2022 and is designed to recognize excellence in an active COPA chapter and its members for their commitment, service, and involvement in their COPA Flight, aviation and/or community-at-large. Nominations are made by COPA members and/or COPA Flights.
