Position descriptions

The Administrative and Membership Coordinator is responsible for managing the COPA general inbox, answering the phone, membership renewals, new memberships, student memberships, all membership mailings, the COPA Store, event registration and so much more! We receive several calls and emails per day, therefore to ensure we attend to your needs adequately, please leave a message or send an email. We will get back to you within 72 hours.

 

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing all COPA’s social media accounts, coordinating eFlight material with our Publisher, COPA ads in various publications, translation, website content, direct communication with members, programs promotion and it the back up for the Administrative and Membership Coordinator.

 

The Director, National Programming is responsible for the effective management of all the COPA programs such as the COPA Safety Program, the COPA Awards Program, the COPA Scholarship Program, the Discover Aviation Program and the Mentorship and Networking Program. The Director also leads the National Fly-In and Aviation Exhibition planning and the delivery of the Yearly COPA Leadership Summit where our COPA flight will connect, share ideas and receive leadership training.

 

The Director, External Relations is responsible for COPA’s advocacy initiatives both at the operational and ministerial levels and assists the CEO in the development and the implementation of strategies to elevate COPA’s public image. The Director is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, such as sister aviation associations and organizations, NAV CANADA, and Transport Canada.

 

The Director, Aviation Operations is responsible for raising awareness and providing strategic guidance of the safety issues facing general aviation in Canada. The Director responsible for developing and communicating aviation safety positions in collaboration with COPA’s stakeholders, including but not limited to our members, Transport Canada, NAV CANADA and the Transportation Safety Board. The Director is also responsible for maintaining the accurateness of the COPA Guides.

 

The Executive Administrator and Office Manager is responsible for managing and monitoring the day to day financial operation of the company, human resources, manages the benefits programs, onboarding of new team members, budget and business planning . The Manager is additionally responsible for the organization of Board meetings, manages the planning of elections when required and leads the COPA AGM planning. The Manager additionally assists the CEO in various capacities.
