The COPA Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) is a registered charity dedicated to advancing aviation safety and building a stronger, more informed general aviation community across Canada. Since its incorporation in 1993 – and its charitable designation in 2008 – the Foundation has worked to promote personal aviation as a safe, sustainable, and valued part of Canadian life.

What We Do 

The FSF supports safety through a range of educational and advocacy initiatives, including: 

  • Developing and distributing flight safety programs and materials 
  • Publishing safety-focused guides, articles, and resources 
  • Offering training, workshops, and seminars to pilots and aviation enthusiasts 
  • Participating in the regulatory process to shape practical aviation policies 
  • Conducting and communicating research to improve safety standards 
  • Administering scholarship programs that help aspiring pilots and RPAS operators take flight
