The big banquet - Mary and I were delighted to attend the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame’s 37th Induction Ceremony here in Vancouver, as guests of Blain and Marlene Fowler. Blain is a long time Western Warbirds friend and CAHF Director. This glittering affair was held in the theatre at Richmond’s River Rock Casino Resort, a wonderful venue. Over 280 guests attended.

Siggy does Delta - Brian “Siggy” Sigsworth and I spent all Friday night setting up his new ‘birthday’ HP super printer, scanner and everything machine. With relish he promptly plugged in the lovely blue setup CD, thus confounding the whole procedure, which, the book says, is to plug in the CD last.

Being there in the ’70s - Back in the early 1970s our Harvard ‘Bessy’ sparkled in her new paint job, and Mary and I enthusiastically criss-crossed Canada and the States seeking like minded flying folk.

The chicken motel - Long, long ago, when flying around was merely a matter of picking a fair to middling day, gas was given away at fly-ins, and girl pilots wore white helmets and sexy goggles, those of us with quirky old vintage airplanes were in great demand at these happy go-lucky cheerful events.
April
Fast rewind - Long time since Her Majesty sent my lot to learn real flying from the fine chaps at RCAF Currie field, aka Lincoln Park, Calgary. It was 1953, and a wondrous thing.

Psst! Wanna Stearman? - Many years ago, before I knew about flying for fun, the MATA, (man across the alley) said his dear old dad was off to a home, and they were clearing out the stuff he’d been accumulating since the forties, and would I like an old Stearman, as they had no use for it?
February
The dirty shirt - You know it’s a quantum shift in the universe when you find your wife cleaning house in your precious Western Warbirds monogrammed golf shirt! A vintage collectable from hero pilot glory days.

Happy New Year - Here we are again… Since we last spoke we’ve had Remembrance Day, Christmas and now, A Happy New Year.
