World Aeronautical Charts Discontinued - Nav Canada will be discontinuing the production of World Aeronautical Charts (WACs) and withdrawing the existing inventory from sale effective September 23, 2010, at which time these charts will no longer be authorized for operational use.

Air Traffic Controllers Pull 20-Ton Plane One Mile - On Saturday, June 19, a team of 10 air Traffic Controllers from the Nav Canada Area Control Centre in Toronto successfully pulled a 40,000-pound jet for one continuous mile at Pearson International Airport.

Dornier Seastar To Be Built In Quebec - The Dornier Seaplane Company announced in a wellattended opening ceremony that it will assemble its Twin PT-6 powered Seastar amphibian aircraft in St-Jean-sur- Richelieu.

TC Mandates 406 Mhz Elts For Most Private Aircraft - After 12 years of common sense arguments, consultation and negotiation, Transport Canada has decided to mandate new ELTs that broadcast on 406 Mhz for most aircraft flying in Canadian airspace, including private aircraft (Canadian and foreign).
